We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Responsible Individual to oversee daily operations within our residential care facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team to provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children in our care. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a genuine passion for working with children. The successful applicant will play a vital part in implementing care plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering positive relationships with children, families, and external agencies. Duties
Lead and supervise a team of residential Managers to deliver high-quality care tailored to each child's needs
Oversee the implementation and review of individualised care plans in collaboration with social workers and other professionals
Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures
Organise daily routines, activities, and behavioural management strategies to promote positive development
Maintain accurate records of children's progress, incidents, and care activities in accordance with organisational policies
Facilitate effective communication between team members, children, families, and external agencies
Assist with organising transport for children as required, including driving when necessary
Support staff development through supervision, training, and mentoring to maintain a motivated team environment
Skills
Proven experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with children, families, colleagues, and external partners
Knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures
Ability to develop and oversee personalised care plans tailored to individual children's needs
Competent IT skills for record keeping and report writing
Valid driving licence with the ability to drive as required by the role
Organised approach with excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
