C2 planning permission already granted

, we are in the final stages of preparing for our

Ofsted registration

and are seeking an experienced

Responsible Individual

to join our team on a

part-time consultancy basis

.

This role offers an opportunity to play a key part in shaping a new, nurturing, and compliant children's home from its foundation, ensuring excellence in care, safeguarding, and operational delivery.

About the Role



As the Responsible Individual, you will provide strategic leadership and regulatory oversight during the

pre-registration and inspection phase

, and continue to support the home's development once operational.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing expert guidance during the

Ofsted pre-registration process

. Supporting the

Registered Manager

to establish compliant systems and processes. Ensuring that policies, procedures, and documentation meet

Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations

standards. Offering professional oversight of

safeguarding, staff training, and quality assurance

. Maintaining effective communication with Ofsted, local authorities, and external partners. Attending the home on a

consultancy or part-time basis

, with increased involvement once children are placed.
This is an ideal opportunity for an established RI or senior care professional seeking a

flexible consultancy role

with potential for long-term partnership as the home develops.

About You



You will be a

proven leader

with demonstrable experience managing or overseeing

Ofsted-regulated children's homes

, ideally with a

Good or Outstanding

inspection record.

Essential criteria:



Experience as a Responsible Individual or Registered Manager in a children's residential setting. Strong understanding of

Ofsted Inspection Framework

,

Children's Homes Regulations 2015

, and

Quality Standards

. Demonstrable success in achieving and maintaining

positive Ofsted ratings

. Excellent leadership, communication, and safeguarding skills. Flexibility to support the home on a consultancy basis during pre-registration, moving to regular (e.g., once-weekly) involvement post-registration. DBS on the update service

Desirable:



Experience with children with

EBD and/or LD

. Relevant Level 5 or above qualification in Leadership and Management (Children and Young People's Services).

Terms



Consultancy / Part-Time Arrangement:

Flexible engagement during pre-registration.

Active Involvement:

Required during Ofsted inspection and once the home becomes operational.

Remuneration:

Negotiable, with payment structured on a

per-visit or agreed consultancy rate

.
