Remote with regular travel across Kent, East Sussex, Surrey, and South East London

Salary:

50,000 to 65,000 per annum including performance bonus

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Responsible Individual and Operations Manager opportunity in Children's Residential Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Responsible Individual and Operations Manager to provide operational leadership across multiple Ofsted children's residential homes in Kent and neighbouring counties. This senior Responsible Individual and Operations Manager role is essential in ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and strong outcomes for children and young people.

This is a strategic position for an Operations Manager or Responsible Individual who is motivated to lead Registered Managers, strengthen services, and support teams in delivering exceptional residential childcare.

Key Responsibilities for the Responsible Individual / Operations Manager

Lead operational oversight across a group of Ofsted children's residential homes Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards Mentor, coach, and support Registered Managers to enhance service quality Lead safeguarding, ensuring a safe and accountable culture Prepare homes for Ofsted inspections, aiming for Good and Outstanding ratings Oversee staffing, recruitment, budgets, and operational resources Build professional relationships with local authorities and regulatory partners Promote continuous improvement, staff development, and positive outcomes for young people

About You

Minimum three years' senior management, Responsible Individual, or Operations Manager experience in children's residential care NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards) Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation Confident leadership and communication skills Evidence of driving improvement and supporting successful Ofsted inspections Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel across the region Passionate about achieving outstanding care for children and young people
