Location:

Remote, with regular travel across Greater London and Bedfordshire

Salary:

50,000 - 65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)

Contract:

Full-time, Permanent

Monday to Friday

We're looking for an experienced and passionate

Social Care Consultant

to provide expert guidance, oversight, and strategic support across children's residential homes throughout Greater London.

This is a senior consultancy role with direct influence on service quality and outcomes for children and young people. You'll act as a trusted advisor to Registered Managers and senior leaders, embedding safeguarding best practice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across all services.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all homes meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards. Provide professional consultancy, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers. Lead on safeguarding practices, embedding safe, transparent, and accountable standards of care. Support services through Ofsted inspections, achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes. Advise on operational efficiency including staffing structures, budgets, and resource management. Build strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies. Support workforce development, training, and performance management to build skilled, confident teams. Promote a culture of reflection, accountability, and continuous learning.
About You

We're seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable leader who is passionate about improving services and outcomes. You will bring:

At least 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards). Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and compliance standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. A proven track record of influencing practice and raising service standards. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout Greater London. A genuine passion for making a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.
