Are you an experienced leader with the drive to raise standards, embed safeguarding, and inspire excellence in children's residential care? We are looking for a forward-thinking
Social Care Consultant
to provide strategic leadership, professional guidance, and regulatory oversight across multiple homes in the South East.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, offering you the chance to influence practice at a high level while supporting Registered Managers to deliver safe, high-quality, child-focused care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultancy, support, and leadership across several residential children's homes.
Ensure homes meet and exceed Ofsted standards and Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
Coach and mentor Registered Managers to deliver excellent, child-centred care.
Lead safeguarding initiatives and ensure robust, accountable practices are embedded.
Support services through Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' and 'Outstanding' outcomes.
Promote a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Advise on budgets, staffing, and resource management to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
Drive staff development, training, and performance management initiatives.
About You
Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care.
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or commitment to achieve).
Excellent knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks, safeguarding legislation, and Quality Standards.
Strong communicator with proven leadership and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence practice and improve outcomes.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East.
