We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking
Social Care Consultant
to provide expert guidance, oversight, and support across children's residential homes in Greater London.
This role offers the opportunity to influence practice at a strategic level, raise standards of care, and empower Registered Managers to deliver services where children and young people truly thrive. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will embed safeguarding excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all homes.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure services comply with Ofsted standards, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
Provide professional consultancy, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers.
Lead on safeguarding initiatives, embedding safe, transparent, and accountable practice.
Support and prepare homes for Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes.
Advise on operational management, including staffing, budgets, and resource allocation.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulators.
Drive staff development, training, and performance improvement.
Foster a culture of reflection, accountability, and continuous learning.
About You
Minimum 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care.
NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proven track record of improving outcomes and influencing best practice.
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the region.
A genuine passion for ensuring children and young people receive the highest standards of care.
