Permanent, full time position.
37 hours per week, working 8:00 - 16:00 Monday - Thursday, 8:00 - 15:30 on a Friday.
You will be based at West Park Depot, Chelston Business Park, Wellington.
28 days annual leave, not including bank holidays.

What will I be doing?
We're working to improve the lives of people in Somerset and you'll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:
Leading and managing a team of tradespeople to deliver high quality repairs and maintenance across our housing stock.
Inspecting completed works to ensure safety standards, building regulations and quality expectations are met.
Coordinating with other trades and supervisors to ensure seamless delivery of multi - trade repairs.
Providing on-site guidance, mentoring and training to team members to support their development.
Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment.
Liaising with tenants, contractors and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. But it will really help if you have:
Proven experience in carpentry, ideally with supervisory responsibilities in housing maintenance or construction environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of tradespeople effectively.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, building codes and technical specifications.
Solid understanding of construction techniques, materials and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills to liaise with tenants, contractors and internal teams.
A commitment to mentoring and developing team members through on-site guidance and training.
Recommended qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Carpentry and Joinery. Site Supervisors Safety Training scheme (SSSTS) or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
Health and Safety Certification CSCS (Construction skills certification scheme) ideally at supervisory level).
