To coordinate the effective flow of donated and new goods across charity retail areas, ensuring stock is available, well presented, correctly priced, and delivered efficiently. The role supports the mission of the charity by maximising revenue through excellent operational coordination, strong visual merchandising, accurate stock control, and compliance with internal systems and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Stock Management
Monitor and manage the flow of donated and new goods from donors and suppliers to the mill.
Support volunteers and staff in sorting, recording, and replenishing stock.
Coordinate seasonal stock rotation.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
Organise transport schedules for collections and deliveries across the district and donation hubs.
Maintain smooth logistics operations.
Ensure compliance with vehicle safety, manual handling, and waste management policies.
Order Processing & Fulfilment
Track incoming and outgoing stock to ensure accurate reporting and delivery timelines.
Maintain systems for item tracking and donor engagement (where applicable).
Retail Operations Support
Act as a liaison between logistics and shop team to ensure the shop is supported effectively.
Help onboard and train volunteers and shop staff on operational procedures.
Assist in shop openings, refits, or stock promotions.
Reporting, IT & POS Systems
Maintain and update inventory and POS systems, ensuring data accuracy.
Ensure we claim gift aid on donated items.
Generate reports on stock levels, sales performance, and logistics efficiency.
Troubleshoot system issues and liaise with IT support when necessary.
Visual Merchandising & Pricing Compliance
Implementing agreed merchandising standards and promotional displays.
Ensure pricing guidelines are followed consistently and adapted for high-value or vintage items.
Conduct regular audits of pricing and shop floor presentation.
Service Linkages & Volunteer Support
Help connect service users involved in volunteering or work placements with wider support.
Work collaboratively with peer support and employability leads (where applicable).
