At Pavers & Jones Bootmaker, we are looking for a Retail Marketing Co-ordinator to join our Head Office Retail team in York. This full-time, permanent position acts as the strategic and operational link between Retail and Marketing to support footfall and conversion-driving activity, brand awareness, campaign execution across our store portfolio whilst also considering maximising all spend throughout the UK and Ireland store base, to support customer experience and managing within budgets.


We are ideally looking for a colleague with marketing experience within a retail environment, who has excellent communication skills and experience with stakeholder management.

Want to see a snapshot of your duties?

Internally develop collaborative partnerships with the Head of Marketing (footfall driver), Product Trading Manager (conversion driver) and Facilities Project Manager, particularly around new store openings and refit projects. Respond to all internal marketing requests within 24 hours. Provide regular updates on the progress and completion of each task. Act as a key point of contact between the marketing team and retail stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver timely support. Oversee the full lifecycle of seasonal POS materials, from ordering through to distribution across the retail estate. Maintain and manage the comprehensive Excel Seasonal POS Tracker ensuring all entries are up to date, accurate, and aligned with campaign timelines. Ensure all POS requirements from the retail team and individual stores are fulfilled, maintaining high standards and consistency. Monitor and adhere strictly to the allocated POS marketing budget, tracking and reconciling all seasonal and campaign-specific spends. Work collaboratively with the wider marketing, brand, and creative teams to deliver cohesive campaigns. Build strong relationships with Area Managers and Store Managers to identify and implement local marketing opportunities. Support the Area Managers and contribute to cross-functional projects that involve marketing or POS. Liaise and build strong working relationships with key POS suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and value for money. Visit stores a day a quarter to determine future opportunities that sit within the R&R. Maintain and update Yext listings to reflect store openings, closures, and changes to operating hours, whilst liaising with the eCommerce team to ensure Yext is fully utilised across the business, supporting local search visibility and enhancing customer experience.

Success Measures:

All stores would have no missing seasonal, promotional, or general POS requirements, all the time. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, internally and externally. Support local marketing opportunities within the store portfolio while remaining within agreed budgets - so prioritise spend alongside the Retail team. Successfully coordinate and deliver store-level marketing support. Maintain a high standard of organisation, communication, and efficiency in managing tasks. Here's what we are looking for to be our Retail Marketing Executive:

Experience in marketing, ideally within a retail environment. Marketing-related qualifications or studies are beneficial but not essential. Strong Excel and administrative skills with a proactive, self-motivated approach. Exceptional communication and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively. Confident stakeholder manager, comfortable challenging the status quo and driving improvements.

The Pavers story began in York in 1971 when Catherine Paver took out a 200 bank loan (for a sofa she told them) to fund her new business. She had big dreams of changing the world of footwear and a passion to provide comfortable and stylish shoes for all.


Starting small, she sold shoes at village halls and homeware parties before opening the first Pavers shop in Scarborough in 1981, when Catherine's three sons joined the business. One of her sons, Stuart, ran the business as Managing Director for over 40 years, joined by his son Jason in 2016. As of September 2023, Jason Paver is now the Managing Director of Pavers Ltd, with Stuart Paver moving to Chairman, taking the company into the 3rd generation of family run leadership.


From these modest beginnings, Pavers Shoes has grown to be a UK leader in today's footwear industry, with over 180 stores nationwide encompassing our more recently acquired brands including Jones Bootmaker, Herring Shoes, Padders & Van Dal.
