Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Retirement Living Housing Manager to join and manage our team at Whitley Court. Located in the heart of the English Riviera, Whitley Court offers a selection of independent living apartments for rent with a range of on-site services and facilities and is designed to offer comfort and peace of mind.

You will be providing leadership to the scheme, managing a team of staff and making sure health and safety requirements are met, to ensure the safety of our residents and staff.

The role of Retirement Living Housing Manager will include:

  • Ensure the effective delivery of a high quality housing service through the management of buildings, grounds, amenities, contracts and budgets
  • Manage the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff to ensure required skilled staff are available to meet the needs of the service
  • Building partnerships with the on site care provider and working with relevant parties to facilitate contracts with the best use of the scheme\'s services
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements of the building, including fire safety
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with residents, families and external agencies, and responding promptly to any feedback or complaints
  • Signposting residents for further support if and when required
  • Encouraging and supporting wellbeing activities to encourage participation and involvement
  • On-call duties are required
Skills and experiences:
  • Proven relevant management experience in the Retirement Living, Extra Care, Care or Housing sector
  • Level 3 Diploma in Housing, Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong listening and observational skills
  • A friendly personality with good customer service skills
  • Good administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
  • The ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and SAP is desirable
