Retirement Living Officer (part Time)

Job Description

Are you a keen problem solver who enjoys delivering great customer service? If so, we've a unique part time opportunity for someone to join us as a Retirement Living Officer working 14 hours per week across a minimum of 3 days - days of work and start/finish times can be discussed to offer flexibility to suitable candidates.



In this role you'll work across two schemes in Lichfield, Uxbridge Court in the centre of Burntwood and Samuel Close in Netherstowe, close by to the city centre. Uxbridge Court is one of our smaller Retirement Living Sheltered schemes, comprising of 23 apartments, whereas Samuel close is made up of 10 Leasehold/Rented bungalows - both schemes are home to tenants who live independently.



Across the schemes, you'll represent Midland Heart and be responsible for providing a brilliant Housing Management service where proactive communication with tenants is key!



Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include:



Managing compliance including building safety, safeguarding, fire safety and health and safety, ensure that our schemes are safe, secure and thriving communities.



Achieve high customer satisfaction, by developing and maintaining positive relationships with our tenants, interacting with them regularly to ensure key messages are delivered and their needs are understood.



Please be aware, you will play a crucial role in running the schemes you cover and will be the responsible person on scheme, representing Midland Heart in the event of an emergency or customer query.



Our ideal candidate?



You'll have experience of working within Housing Management; OR experience within a fast-paced customer service / relations role, either over the phone or face-to-face, with a keen interest in a career in Housing Management.



Experience of carrying out building safety/compliance checks.



You'll have practical IT skills (Microsoft packages and in-house systems) with the ability to write letters to customers, report repairs and complete online training.



You'll be highly organised with the ability to balance multiple tasks in this varied role.



Importantly, you enjoy delivering a brilliant customer service, you're confident interacting with lots of different people and you bring a positive approach to any challenges you face!



We're happy to provide training for candidates with no prior Housing / Building Compliance experience who are willingly to learn and have a keen interest in pursuing a career in Social Housing.



Our residents value face to face interaction and so it's important for you to be visible onsite at Uxbridge Court when needed. Due to limited office facilities at Uxbridge Court, the remainder of your time will be spent working from other local Midland Heart Schemes in the area (such as Cannock or Wolverhampton) or working from home. You'll be required to visit Samuel Close a minimum of once a month and as and when needed to manage services at the bungalows. To be considered for this role, you must be willing and able to travel to Uxbridge Court, Samuel Close and surrounding areas.
