Pricing & Promotion Manager

This position is accountable to drive sustainable, profitable growth by optimising channel, customer and pack mix, price & promotion strategy and also will analyse current performance, make relevant recommendations and agree implementation plan with key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive PRGM thought leadership in the UK business, drawing from internal & external best practices to develop new ideas and ways of working.
  • Develop, maintain and advise new approaches to gross margin delivery through pricing & promotion and PRGM levers.
  • Drive continuous improvement of commercial capability across key functions.
  • Develop & implement pricing policies/guidelines, Price & Pack architecture (PPA) & price increases.
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses on threats and opportunities relating to PPA as they arise.
  • Make PPA recommendations based on Sales Strategy, brand & promotion objectives, market conditions & competitor activity.
  • Embed deep understanding and implementation of pricing guidelines & policies across key functions.
  • Monitor and review pricing - capture learnings and recommend adjustments to guidelines as required.
  • Build promotional plans that reflect market growth drivers.
  • Liaise with Sales to implement robust promotion plans that deliver against commercial objectives & consider market analysis through providing ongoing evaluation.
  • Own the development, implementation and maintenance of analytics tools.
  • Provide performance overview & recommendations using analytics tools such as TPM (Trade Promotion Management)/TPO (Trade Promotion Optimisation) & elasticity.
  • Market price tracking processes in place for Asahi brands and its key competitors.
  • Track the implementation & impact of Pricing.
  • Embed relevant routines into an annual plan based on analysis, drivers & recommendations.
Experience Required
  • Previous commercial experience in an FMCG company required, preferably in Revenue Management roles or positions requiring high analytical skills.
  • Experience of the drinks or beer industry would be advantageous but is not required.
  • Evidence of ability to convert research and insight into tangible business value for both marketing, sales and customer marketing partners.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of channel, customer and other commercial issues.
  • Strong project management skills, within and across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communicator with evidence of ability to build collaborative partnerships and influence key stakeholders to drive commercial impact.
  • English language skills required: other languages advantageous.
