As a Revenues Collection Officer, you will be working in a team to collect money owed to the city council from organisations and individuals.
Once you are trained you will join one of our collections teams and you will be helping customers digitally, on the phone and face to face to resolve complex and detailed queries.
This role is all about giving good customer service and you will need to show empathy to people from all backgrounds who can be upset and emotional, sorting out their problems sensitively and helping them come to suitable payment arrangements, with an understanding of potential vulnerability.

Key skills you can offer:

• Good communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to resolve difficult situations for customers, some of whom will be challenging, whilst maintaining a positive attitude to customer service.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst dealing with high volumes of work and input data with accuracy and speed.

• Be resilient and flexible to deal with changing situations.

• Actively contribute to a positive team environment.

• Ability to interpret and understand legislation and technical procedures.

• Good IT skills and able to use the Microsoft Word package and ability to use other databases.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
