Responsibilities



Provide comprehensive nursing assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed patient histories to inform individualized care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and injections with aseptic technique. Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), tube feeding management, and ventilator care. Manage acute pain through tailored pain management strategies while ensuring effective symptom control for patients with complex needs. Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing laboratory experience, specimen collection/processing, and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Deliver holistic patient care across various settings including hospital medicine units like ICU, PICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, hospice & palliative medicine, and home & community care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, discharge planning, and long-term care strategies aligned with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements (ICD-9/10). Engage in triage activities in urgent care or emergency environments to prioritize patient needs efficiently. Work with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, patients with developmental disabilities or dementia (Alzheimer's & memory care), behavioral health concerns, and those requiring specialized services like ostomy or infectious disease care. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical records while safeguarding patient confidentiality. Support infection control protocols and sterile processing procedures to uphold safety standards across all clinical activities. Participate in ongoing professional development related to trauma medicine, occupational health, critical care transport, or esthetic laser treatments as applicable.

Requirements



Valid registration as an RGN or RMN with current nursing licensure in the relevant jurisdiction. Proven experience in medical-surgical units, ICU/critical care environments (including Level I & II trauma centers), emergency medicine or similar acute settings. Demonstrated proficiency in advanced nursing skills such as IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy, airway management (ventilators), and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation methods essential for comprehensive patient assessment. Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator use), geriatrics (memory/dementia care), behavioral health patients or individuals with disabilities is preferred. Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments such as urgent care centers or hospital emergency departments while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality of care. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and for providing education to patients and families. Commitment to ongoing professional development through certifications or training in areas like trauma medicine, hospice & palliative care, occupational health or esthetic laser treatments is advantageous. Pay: 19.84-22.76 per hour
