Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Tetrosyl Buying Team reporting to the Head Purchasing Manager.

You will work closely with your colleagues, fully office based in our Head Office at Rochdale. This is a busy role, and it will require someone with a 'can-do' attitude who enjoys working at pace and can do so with accuracy.

Experience in a previous purchasing role is required.

Rigid Packaging Buyer

Bottles, Closures, Tins, Cartons

Role Overview

Responsible for sourcing and managing rigid plastic, metal & cardboard packaging. You will focus on cost, quality, delivery performance, and sustainability. Close collaboration with suppliers and internal teams (technical, quality, marketing) is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Category Management

: Develop sourcing strategies for HDPE, PET, metal, and rigid packaging. Conduct benchmarking, cost modelling, and supplier analysis.

Supplier Management

: Negotiate pricing and terms; resolve performance issues; coordinate audits and qualifications.

Procurement Ops

: Issue/manage POs, monitor deliveries, maintain MOQ and spec compliance.

Cross-functional Support

: Liaise with artwork/marketing, quality, and tech teams. Support recycled/eco packaging initiatives.

Reporting & Systems

: Maintain ERP/MRP data, report on spend, savings, performance, and inventory KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience

2 years Procurement experience Strong negotiation and analytical skills; ERP & Excel proficiency.

Preferred

: CIPS qualification, experience with rigid packaging, sustainability expertise.
