We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Roofer/Solar installer to join our renewables team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on various types of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in construction and roofing to contribute to high-quality projects while developing their skills further. The ideal candidate will have Renewable Energy experience In Solar PV Panel installation.
Duties
Install new roofing systems using appropriate materials and techniques
Repair and replace damaged or worn roofing components
Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation
Installation of in-roof and above-roof solar panel installations.
Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently
Fabricate custom components as needed for specific roofing applications
Perform welding, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, or other related tasks when required for complex roofing projects
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards
Assist with heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate efficient workflow
Maintain a clean and organised work environment on-site at all times
Skills
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical drawings for roof and solar installs
Experience with welding, fabrication, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or construction is advantageous
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised roofing equipment
Knowledge of roofing materials and installation techniques
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
Strong understanding of safety protocols related to working at heights and on construction sites
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
