Full job description



Gan On The Hill is an independent and caring Jewish nursery in Muswell Hill, London. It is run by two passionate (and crazy) women and we have a kind and fun team!

We are looking for an a Room Leader to join our team. As a Room Leader, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality childcare and early education of toddler and young children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will be responsible for creating engaging activities, fostering children's social and academic development, and ensuring each child's well-being and happiness.

We are a Jewish nursery (we are not religious - more traditional and cultural) and we welcome children and staff of all faiths and religions. A third of our children aren't Jewish and half of our staff aren't either. We don't mind if an applicant isn't Jewish - all we ask is that you take on board the Jewish learning, songs and activities that we do at the nursery (eg. celebrating festivals and a weekly Shabbat party) and are are open and enthusiastic!

Duties:



- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities to stimulate children's cognitive, social, and emotional growth.

- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and curiosity.

- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication and collaboration.

- Monitor and assess each child's progress, identifying areas for improvement and

implementing strategies to support their development.

- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, behaviour, and health to ensure

individualised care and attention.

- Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive educational experience that aligns with Gan On The Hill's philosophy and standards.

- Demonstrate leadership skills by guiding and supporting staff in daily activities and

routines.

Experience



- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.

- The candidate must hold a Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare or the Early Years.

- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and

colleagues.

- Ability to manage classroom dynamics while providing individualized attention to each child.

- Passion for nurturing young minds and creating a positive learning environment.

- Drive to continuously improve teaching methods and adapt to the evolving needs of children.
