To support the Head of Commercial in meeting and exceeding annual sales targets for hires by delivering high caliber events at MK Gallery.





The Gallery has secured additional funding to create a full-time role for 8 months, to work collaboratively with the Milton Keynes City Council and the Economic Development team to build partnership with the City's private sector.

Main duties and responsibilities:



Sales and Marketing





Work collaboratively with the Economic Development team to raise the profile of the event hire offer. Respond promptly and decisively to reactive sales enquiries to maximise opportunities for event hire. Log all enquiries on the pipeline and monitor the bookings diary in collaboration with the programming team. Collaborate with the Head of Commercial to build networks with potential clients and maintain strong relationships through regular communication, networking events, and strategic lead generation. Liaise with the Marketing Team to raise the profile of the events hire offer and come up with new ideas and strategies to promote MKG's events spaces Develop strong relationships with businesses and event suppliers to promote MK Gallery venue hire through word of mouth. Work with the Head of Commercial to develop relationships and networking accounts with key daytime venue hire clients and agencies to secure repeat bookings. Have excellent knowledge of the venue and the various room capacities, unique selling points and capabilities to ensure that all event locations and the diary are fully maximised to meet and exceed revenue targets. Support delivery of commercial targets by proactively seeking new business opportunities and ensuring venue hire income meets or exceeds agreed targets. Act as a brand ambassador and raise the Gallery's event profile by providing the highest possible levels of customer service when pursuing sales and by managing relationships professionally.

Event Operations





Manage day and evening events, overseeing set up of all elements of the event including catering working with the chef. Ensure front of house/events/catering staff have comprehensive event schedules that enable them to organise appropriate resources and staffing. Be responsible for the safety of the building and the artwork during events, ensuring guests, staff, contractors, and related parties comply with Gallery policies and guidelines, creating method statements and risk assessments as required and ensuring that venues are maintained to a high presentational standard. Meet and greet clients at events and follow up post-event for feedback and repeat business. Provide current and potential hirers with hire information, date availability, quotations, hire packages, tours, plans, images, technical and other supplier information and liaise with external contractors and suppliers as required by the Head of Commercial. Work with the Chef on developing bespoke event menus when needed. Assist in support, cover and delivery of all Gallery events and activities which may, from time to time, include reception services. Lead pre-event team briefings alongside the Head of Commercial and House Manager to communicate expectations, allocate responsibilities, and ensure readiness across all departments. Take a hands-on leadership role during event delivery alongside the Head of Commercial, acting as the main point of contact where needed and ensuring smooth coordination across teams. Oversee post-event debriefs and follow-up processes with the Head of Commercial to gather feedback, identify improvements, and encourage repeat business. Ensure the event delivery process is seamless and professional from start to finish, with a clear focus on client satisfaction, brand representation, and operational excellence.

General





Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Head of Commercial. Always carry out the responsibilities of the post with due regard to the policies and procedures on health and safety, security, child protection, equality & diversity, etc. Attend all relevant meetings related to your role, as well as those suggested by the Head of Commercial, to maintain a comprehensive understanding of gallery operations and ensure the wider team has an understanding of the event operations. Provide his/her own clerical support.
