Job Description

Esselle Retail Ltd, is a leading supplier of wallcoverings and home decorative products, based in Rossendale, Lancashire.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team on a full-time, temporary basis for approximately 12 months as a Sales and Purchase Ledger Clerk.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the purchase ledger and credit control functions of the business. Responsible for posting invoices, making payments, reconciling bank accounts, reconciling debtor accounts and credit control activities, as well as any other ad hoc tasks.

Key Responsibilities:



Entering invoices and credit notes onto the finance system.

Coding invoices appropriately using excel s/sheets and entering onto the finance system.

Downloading, processing, and coding the company credit card statements

Checking employee expense and mileage claims are properly authorised, supported with receipts and are in accordance with company policy.

Processing employee expense claims

Preparing and carrying out UK and International payment and BACS runs in multiple currencies.

Posting, allocating and reconciling cash on supplier accounts

Setting up new accounts, checking and maintaining supplier/customer details and completing new account application forms.

Undertaking statement reconciliations monthly.

Update daily bank files, post payments and allocate cash.

Debt collection in line with our Company Credit Control Procedures including:

Telephone calls to all overdue accounts, issuing standard overdue/ in-house legal letters and where required preparing accounts for legal action.

Liaising with account managers/ reps regarding overdue accounts.

Consolidated Account Reconciliations and cash allocations.

Approving/releasing credit stopped orders.

Building strong relationships with suppliers and customers whilst being the escalation point for queries when required via phone or email.

Adhere to all finance policies, processes and documents always working to best practice guidelines.

To support and drive the necessary process improvements within the function to support business growth.

Apply strong controls to deliver a robust and efficient monthly close off and reconciliation.

Ad hoc support to all Finance Team.
