Your new Role:

To manage SGS relationships with our customer\'s procurement departments to ensure external procurement team engagement and that SGS are viewed as a strategically important partner to our customers, so maximizing revenue and profitability.

Key Accountabilities
  • Researching what services SGS provides to each customer before contacting existing SGS customers via telephone, email and MS Teams to connect and ensure procurement managers and teams have the information needed to maximise their commercial relationship with SGS.
  • Updating customer procurement systems with relevant SGS service information as well as updating the SGS CRM to ensure customer information is up to date.
  • Using business directories such as LinkedIn to establish contact information for external procurement teams.
  • Conducting a professional, consultative engagement with the customer procurement contact, ensuring they are aware of SGS, the services being provided, and the benefits.
  • Building and maintaining a baseline knowledge of SGS diverse services to raise awareness of the diverse range of SGS services as a strategic supplier.
  • Requesting information about which procurement system, and/or procurement process the customer generally uses, obtaining key dates for projects / tenders / renewals while ensuring SGS information is up to date on each customers procurement system.
  • This may require registration of SGS details on customers eProcurement systems, completing questionnaires, providing financial and technical information to the customer electronically.
  • Outbound customer contact activities and speaking in a consultative way about SGS services, involving and handing over to the commercial team when and where required.
  • Creating and maintaining a database of services the customer needs, categorised and matched to services SGS can, does, or could, with investment, provide.
  • Liaising with the customer service team should the customer raise a customer service issue, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
Qualifications

How to be a successful candidate
  • Procurement qualification or
  • Time served to demonstrate experience working with procurement departments
  • A procurement background, or extensive experience working with procurement departments.
  • This could be public sector; however commercial focussed procurement would be advantageous.
  • Experience working with eProcurement systems, tender portals / platforms.
  • Experience completing questionaries to support procurement applications/processes.
  • Experience in a highly technical B2B environment.
  • Experience working in an environment aligned to the sales/customer contact aspects of this role.
  • Experience working successfully within a performance measured CRM based environment
Desirable
  • Proven track record of delivering Customer Service Excellence
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
  • Customer Service or Sales qualification
