Scope
The sales Support Assistant plays a key role in supporting the sales team by ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of customer orders and administrative processes. This role involves liaising with customers and internal departments to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and timely delivery of products and services.
This position would suit someone from a manufacturing background and ideally have experience working in customer sales/support.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately process sales orders using ERP systems.
Liaise with customers to confirm order details, delivery schedules and respond to queries.
Support the sales team with administrative tasks including preparing quote, reports.
Handle incoming calls and emails relating to sales enquiries.
Collaborate with finance and operation teams to ensure smooth order-to-cash processes.
Maintain up-to-date customer records and order documentation.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and company information.
Ensure all communication and processes are in line with company standards and confidentiality protocol.
Provide day-to-day support to Account Managers and the wider sales team.
Carry out any other duties as required to support the sales function.
Admin Duties
Maintain organised and up-to-date electronic and physical filing system.
Support the team with the scheduling of meetings, calls and customer visits.
Assist with the preparation and distribution of internal reports and performance tracking.
Update internal database with customer and sales information.
Monitor and manage shared sales inboxes.
Skills and Experience
Previous experience in a sales support or administrative background (essential).
Background in or understanding of the manufacturing industry (preferred).
Strong organisational skills and multitasking skills.
Excellent relationship and communication skills - verbal and written (essential).
Be proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Outlook) suite.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Familiarity with sales processes and basic customer service principle.
Experience using ERP systems (desirable).
