Salon Manager / Hairdresser

to take the reins of our busy salon and inspire our talented team.

Your Role:

This is a hands-on position combining salon management with hairdressing. You'll lead by example--styling clients while managing the team, driving performance, and ensuring the salon runs smoothly every day.

Position Overview:

The Salon Manager will be responsible for leading a team of stylists and support staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing business performance, and maintaining a welcoming and professional environment for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Run a full and busy schedule, doing all aspects of hairdressing. Oversee daily salon operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery. Supervise and support salon staff, including stylists, assistants and rental staff (back rooms). Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback. Hold yearly staff appraisals with written reports detailing all information. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and, when necessary, managing terminations in alignment with company policies. Monitoring business emails on a regular basis. Maintain exceptional customer service standards and handle client complaints or concerns professionally. Create and manage staff holidays to balance client demand with team availability. Monitor salon performance, including service revenue, retail sales, and customer retention. Manage salon inventory, order supplies, maintain stock levels, track product usage and maintain relations with rep. Oversee salon cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations. Contribute to salon marketing efforts, including social media initiatives. Ability to manage budgets and drive sales performance. Learn all aspects of Phorest salon booking/management software. Monitor and control operating expenses. Foster a positive, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for both staff and clients.

What We're Looking For:

Qualified hairdresser with at least 8 years of experience on the salon floor Previous experience in a leadership or management role (preferred) Strong communication and team management skills Confident in all aspects of hairdressing and customer service Positive, professional, and highly organised Familiarity with Phorest salon software and stock control systems
