We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant to join our team in a dynamic cafe environment. Duties

Assist in food preparation tasks, including chopping, mixing, and cooking under the guidance of chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Serve dishes to customers with attention to detail and presentation. Engage with customers to provide excellent service and promote menu items through effective upselling techniques. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals during busy periods. Perform basic mathematical calculations for portioning ingredients and managing inventory supplies. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices. Manage time efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed within designated shifts.

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is highly desirable. Basic culinary skills and an understanding of food preparation techniques are advantageous. Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively in a busy setting. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with team members and customers. A keen interest in the culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills.
