We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Saw Operative / Goods-In Assistant to join our aluminium fabrication team. This dual role involves operating aluminium cutting machinery to prepare profiles for fabrication, as well as assisting with goods-in duties such as unloading deliveries, checking materials, and preparing metal for production.
This is a hands-on position that supports the smooth flow of materials through the workshop, ensuring components are accurately cut, clearly labelled, and safely stored or distributed for fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
Saw Operation:
Operate double-head and single-head saws to cut aluminium profiles to precise measurements.
Read and interpret cutting lists and fabrication drawings to ensure accuracy.
Label, tape, and bundle cut metal for distribution to fabrication bays.
Maintain and perform basic machine checks and cleaning routines.
Monitor quality of cuts, ensuring no damage or inaccuracies.
Goods-In & Workshop Support:
Assist with unloading deliveries of aluminium profiles, hardware, glass, and other materials.
Check and record incoming goods against delivery notes and report any discrepancies.
Organise and store materials safely and efficiently in designated areas.
Assist with taping, wrapping, and protecting profiles for storage or dispatch.
Support general workshop tasks, including moving materials, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting other departments as required.

Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with workshop tools or machinery.
Physically fit and able to handle aluminium profiles safely.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or warehouse environment.
Competent in using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, etc.).
Willingness to be trained on aluminium saw machinery.
Desirable:
Previous experience cutting aluminium or similar materials.
Forklift licence or willingness to undertake forklift training.
Familiarity with commercial aluminium systems (e.g., Comar, Senior, Exlabesa etc.).
