We're looking for a skilled Scaffold Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating technical scaffold designs, producing supporting calculations, and conducting design risk assessments. You'll play a vital part in enhancing our service delivery by applying your understanding of scaffold erection, use, and dismantling practices across various industry sectors.
You'll work closely with clients, conduct site visits, and contribute to leading a small internal team. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your technical expertise into a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Create detailed scaffold designs, technical drawings, and design documentation
Evaluate internal and external scaffold design work for accuracy and compliance
Perform on-site assessments and gather project-specific requirements
Engage directly with clients to discuss and resolve project-related concerns
Promote and implement best practices in health and safety
Provide mentorship and guidance within a small design team
Continuously contribute to improving processes and design standards
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience in scaffold design is essential
HNC or higher in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Proficiency in designing complex scaffolding systems, including:
Temporary roofing
Facade retention
Cantilever/drop scaffolds
Beam structures
Strong AutoCAD skills (knowledge of AutoCAD 3D or Revit is a plus)
Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
In-depth knowledge of TG20 guidance and relevant industry regulations
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and client interaction abilities
Self-motivated, reliable, and a genuine team player
Desire to grow professionally and expand your skill set
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle preferred
