Role Overview
R&M Williams Ltd is seeking a
Fully Qualified Scaffolding Manager
to oversee and deliver high-quality scaffolding operations across our projects in South Wales and beyond.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader -- someone who is as comfortable
working on the tools and assembling scaffolds
as they are
planning, supervising, and growing a team
.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all scaffolding operations on multiple sites, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification.
Oversee scaffold erection, alteration, and dismantling in accordance with current regulations and company procedures.
Be willing to
work on the tools
Supervise and mentor scaffolders, labourers, and trainees, fostering a culture of teamwork, pride, and safety.
Plan, allocate, and monitor resources (labour, materials, transport) effectively.
Liaise with site managers, clients, and safety representatives to ensure smooth coordination.
Conduct risk assessments, method statements, inspections, and maintain compliance documentation.
Drive continual improvement in site safety, productivity, and workforce development.
Support business growth by helping to
build, train, and structure
expanding scaffolding teams.
Essential Qualifications and Certifications
To be considered fully qualified, candidates must hold:
CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card
(essential)*
CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor (SSSTS or SMSTS)
(essential)*
CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Card
(desirable)*
CSCS Managers Card (or equivalent)
Full UK Driving Licence
First Aid at Work
(3-day, current)
Manual Handling, Working at Height, and Harness Inspection training
Asbestos Awareness
(preferred)*
Temporary Works Supervisor or Coordinator (TWS/TWC)
(advantageous)*
Experience and Skills
Minimum
5 years' experience
as an Advanced Scaffolder, including
2+ years in a supervisory or management role
.
Proven ability to manage scaffolding teams across multiple sites.
Excellent understanding of TG20:21, SG4:22 and associated guidance.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to plan work, manage budgets, and maintain accurate documentation.
