Salary:
29,298 FTE (Pro-rated: 16,450)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive School Games Organiser to lead and expand engagement in the School Games programme across both Primary and Secondary schools. This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to deliver inclusive and enjoyable physical activity, competitions, and events for young people while fostering character development and leadership skills.
The successful candidate will:
Develop and implement a targeted development plan to sustain and grow school participation in the School Games.
Work closely with schools, colleagues, and partners to support transitions, particularly in Year 3 and Years 7/8, ensuring continuity in participation.
Organise and deliver festivals, competitions, and other physical activity opportunities that are inclusive, engaging, and accessible for all young people.
Promote the School Games programme, championing tools such as the School Games Mark, Inclusive Health Check, and Active School Planner.
Advocate the impact of physical activity to stakeholders, demonstrating its value in improving young lives.
Monitor engagement and participation, reporting progress and outcomes at key points throughout the year.
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children and young people in educational or community settings.
Can plan and deliver physical activity programmes effectively, engaging a range of participants.
Communicates confidently with schools, young people, and wider stakeholders.
Is organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, youth work, or physical education are desirable, as is experience engaging underrepresented groups in physical activity. A first aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one, is also required.
