Our company is seeking an experienced school ICT Technician to help with the complex, technical and challenging tasks associated with maintaining school software, network and architecture. The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual who is highly motivated, extremely personable and can work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
This is a varied and rewarding role suitable for an experienced school ICT professional who has the ability to learn quickly, has broad problem solving skills and is keen to expand their technical knowledge.
The successful candidate will mainly be providing onsite ICT Support at various locations around London, as well as taking part in technical installations and projects, some of which they may be expected to lead on. There will be a need to carry out helpdesk support on some days from our office in Medway, Kent. They must be able to work flexibly, mainly from client sites in West and Central London but will also be working from our Medway office on selected project and helpdesk tasks.
Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware and software systems
Install and configure computer equipment, peripherals, and network devices
Ensure the smooth operation of ICT resources, including servers, networks, and interactive whiteboards
Provide technical support to students and staff for ICT-related issues
Collaborate with teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum effectively
Monitor and manage ICT inventory and recommend upgrades when necessary
Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in the education sector
Requirements
Experience of working within a school, academy or College would be very highly desired and advantageous.
Previous experience in an MSP environment would be great but is not a necessity.
Experience installing, maintaining and fixing IT equipment, such as Servers, Software, Networks, Hardware and telephony
Experience of supporting Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Solid knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles
Experience in diagnosing and resolving technical issues
Familiarity with educational software and interactive learning tools
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
An enhanced DBS will be required for this role
