Job Description

Imberhorne is a truly comprehensive school, providing an extensive academic curriculum from Years 7 to 13, alongside an enviable range of extra-curricular activities designed to appeal to the widest interests. Students in Years 7 to 9 are educated on the site of the former East Grinstead Grammar School on Windmill Lane, which provides a nurturing environment for their first three years with us. Years 10 and 11 and our large Sixth Form are based at our Imberhorne Lane site, which has all the specialist facilities and teaching spaces needed for the wide range of examination courses we offer. The majority of staff teach across both sites. We currently have 1630 students on roll, including 270 in our Sixth Form. We are keen for our students to develop into well-rounded young people, with the academic knowledge, character and interpersonal skills they need to take their place as active citizens in society. We value all learning and subjects, meaning our curriculum is extremely wide-ranging, designed to knowledge-rich and to inspire and motivate in equal measure. Job Details
NJC Grade 5 SCP 7-8, Pro-rata salary 23,438 - 23,812 per annum
35 hours per week, Term Time Only Plus 5 (43 weeks)
Monday - Friday 08:30 - 16:00 with 30 minutes unpaid break
We are seeking a passionate IT technician to join our school-based IT team. In an interesting and varied role, the post-holder will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of our IT provision through a range of duties that offer whole school support. We maintain all our IT in house and, as such, you will be exposed to a wide range of systems and technologies, making this an ideal role for someone looking to gain or develop their IT experience. An interest in IT, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to help others are the most important requirements
What You Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Experience of day to day support of IT networks, hardware and software functions within a school or equivalent environment.
  • Further or higher education qualifications relevant to the field, underpinned by a minimum standard of GCSE (grade A* - C).
  • Practical knowledge of a range of IT software, hardware and other associated systems and able to translate these into effective working practice.
  • Good technical knowledge and experience in supporting computer systems and networks.
  • Effective interpersonal skills that can be adapted based on the audience, coupled with an ability to manage difficult conversations and potential conflict.
