Bus Driver and Person Specification

We are seeking a reliable and professional

Bus Driver

to join our team for a term-time only position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of passengers on a set route.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely operate a bus on a designated route, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition. Maintain a clean and tidy bus interior, free from dirt and litter. Interact with passengers in a courteous and professional manner. Report any mechanical issues, accidents or incidents promptly. Manage passenger seating and luggage as needed. Be available for potential extra hours for airport transfers, match fixtures, and other ad-hoc trips.

Working Hours:

This is a part-time, term-time only position. Core hours are 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Flexible hours are required for additional trips as they arise.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate who is responsible, punctual and has a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Essential Requirements:

Clean Driving Licence:

A valid and clean driving licence with the appropriate category (e.g., D or D1) to drive a bus (9-seater).

Experience:

Proven experience in a similar driving role is highly desirable.

Customer Service:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Reliability:

Punctual and able to adhere to a strict schedule.

Attention to Detail:

Meticulous in maintaining vehicle cleanliness and performing safety checks.

Adaptability:

Flexible and willing to work additional hours when required for special assignments.

Desired Attributes:

Knowledge of the local road network. A positive and calm demeanour under pressure. Ability to work independently.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week
