We are looking for people to join our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team (Widening Participation) as a
Schools Outreach Officer,
on a hybrid basis based in our
Manchester
campus.
Please note the role will require frequent travel to schools both local to the campus and within the surrounding counties.
The
Schools Outreach Officer
will be responsible for implementing the University's Widening Access work. You will establish and manage relationships with schools and colleges and deliver outreach activities to prospective students both in schools and on our campuses. Your objectives will align with our Access and Participation Plan which is to work with students who are least likely to attend higher education.
This role is an excellent opportunity to work in a sector-leading Higher Education organisation with a real commitment to widening participation and it is ideal for candidates who are particularly interested in developing new initiatives within the widening participation sphere.
As a
School Outreach Officer
at The University of Law, you will be:
Facilitating outreach activities, such as booking activities in with schools, colleges and other organisations and designing and delivering talks and workshops to groups
Attending a range of higher education fairs and events and supporting the preparation and delivery of Domestic Student Recruitment (DSR) activities
Supporting onsite events at ULaw campuses by delivering talks/workshops and assisting DSR event coordination.
Monitoring the effectiveness of activities by ensuring data is consistently captured and recorded from all events, including inputting into the HEAT database. Additionally, you will be gathering and processing feedback following activities, which will contribute to evaluation projects and reports
Is this you?:
Experience of designing and delivering presentations and workshops
Ability to deliver presentations interactively to engage a range of different audiences
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to develop effective relationships with people
Flexibility to frequently travel to schools in Manchester and the surrounding counties, as well as occasional weekend/evening work.
