We are seeking a new Freelance Science Presenter in NORTH LONDON (Inside M25 Orbital) to cover North, East, Central London areas.



PART TIME, FLEXIBLE INCOME

opportunities offered on a day by day basis, you can accept or decline workshop days to suit your schedule. Term time only, to fit around family life and other commitments.

Job Summary



Hands on Science are one of the UK's leading independent providers of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths)

education into primary and secondary schools.



Hands on Science In-school Workshops



A typical day consists of five 1 hour workshops with a class 30 of pupils at a time typically based within the classroom setting.

Workshop days run

Monday to Friday, term time only.



Job Type / Category



As a skilled science communicator - our Workshop Leaders must have a love of science that they want to share, excellent class management skills and enjoy working with children.

We look for a sense of fun and inclusivity to make sure every child engages with the practical investigations and experiments. Our goal is to have as many children as possible develop a real enthusiasm for science.

Dedication, presentation, diplomacy and reliability are crucial. Our workshop leaders need to be proactive, quick thinkers, calm and professional.

We offer flexible working around family or other work / study commitments. There are no set days for working, workshop days are booked as they come into the business. Our Leaders accept or decline bookings to suit commitments. Workshop days are always full school days and allow for set up, clear down and travel time.

All workshop resources and full training are provided.



Well supported training provided. We provide full lesson content plans and all resources sent direct to sites so no transporting of kit required.

CAR & DRIVING LICENCE DESIRABLE



All workshop leaders must be able to provide us with a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check / DBS. We can help with this.

Skills required:



A skilled science communicator or teacher Excellent engaging and fun approach to presenting to children Proactive thinker Punctuality Good organisational skills Adaptability - can act quickly to adapt workshop formats to suit audiences Flexible and reliable

Desirable:



Has previously worked with children Has some teaching experience DBS (CRB) checked

Flexible working days, you can choose when you want to work Each workshop leader is expected to travel up to a 50 mile radius from their home, with occasional further distance if required to cover their areas Paid for mileage to and from each school location, expenses paid for Excellent competitive pay on a day rate basis

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please only apply if you are looking for long term, flexible "top up" income to fit in around other part time commitments. We are unable to offer gap work or temporary work, we are seeking long term team members.
