About the role

It's helping to protect some of the world's most iconic buildings.

It's using your skills to deliver the very highest standards. And it's developing your career as part of a unique organisation. That is what makes a career with the Royal Household so special.

Our Security Liaison team provide high level protective security support and advice to the Royal Household, protecting everyone living and working in, or visiting the Royal residencies.

Joining this dedicated team, you'll help facilitate the security aspects of daily operations, official engagements, visits and varied events. Your role will span everything from day-to-day clearances to contributing to the security arrangements for high-profile state occasions.

As a Screening Officer, you'll work closely with internal colleagues and external security partners to ensure every visitor and guest gains the correct clearance in line with Royal Household Security procedures. The sheer variety of our operations will stretch you, and grow your expertise. And in everything you do, you'll uphold a level of security and protection that can be relied upon.

Key Responsibilities

Process high numbers of security clearances using our Electronic Visitor Admission (EVA) system, issuing risk-based clearance decisions to align with the busy operations of working palaces. Maintain data integrity and compliance with GDPR and other legislation across access systems and databases. Handle screening and security enquiries by phone, email and in person, as well as contributing to our EVA incident triage. Collaborate with Personnel Security Advisors, Pass Officers and key stakeholders (Metropolitan Police, Home Office, MOD, event contractors) to achieve shared goals and share best practices. Coordinate security screening for large-scale, high-profile events in liaison with departments, government agencies and the military. Compile reports and management information to inform vetting policy, procedural initiatives and project work. Communicate security advice and contribute to the development of overarching Royal Household security policy and culture.

About you
With security screening or open-source intelligence experience, you have a clear understanding of the criminal justice system and policies and the ability to make informed, risk-assessed decisions. You're comfortable with exercising sound judgment, tact and diplomacy, showing initiative with minimal supervision when handling a variety of security related situations. Your strong customer service skills give you the ability to communicate complex information clearly at all levels and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Your able to demonstrate your ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate multiple tasks, especially in support of large-scale events, all whilst ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Digitally fluent, you'll have experience with database management systems and be adept at producing reliable, policy-compliant data outputs. Whilst a Certification in ID Verification would be advantageous, it's your ability to work collaboratively with colleagues with your positive 'can do' attitude that we're really looking for.
