The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UK\xe2\x80\x99s nuclear submarines. Job description


As one of our internal communications business partners, the role involves engagement with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the business and plays an important part in the team\xe2\x80\x99s continued success. The role is responsible for managing and developing engaging, high-quality internal communications campaigns across various channels, and leading in shaping the content, tone, and mode of delivery of messages to all internal audiences. It includes management and development of effective communications plans, write engaging copy, developing creative briefs and event management of staff events. In addition, this role is also responsible for survey management of our annual people survey and related activity. Please note that this is a fixed term role for 12 months. Responsibilities
  • Delivering internal communications activities which provide effective two-way communication between employees, senior leaders and line managers, engaging staff on the issues that affect them.
  • Managing and developing engaging, high quality internal communications strategy campaigns and plans delivered through multi-media channels and leading in shaping the content, tone and mode of delivery of messages to all internal audiences.
  • Managing and developing effective communications plans, writing engaging copy, developing creative briefs and event management of staff events and forums.
  • Leading on the engagement with key stakeholders which may include senior executive level, MOD and cross government.
  • Developing and implementing business area internal communications strategy, aligned to corporate communications process, channels and strategy.
  • Providing strategic communications advice to senior management on use of channels and delivery of key messages.
  • Developing positive relationships with all stakeholders across senior management and programme teams.
  • Evaluating and measuring effectiveness of communications activities.
  • Managing our annual employee engagement survey and associated activity.
  • Direct line management of junior colleagues within their own team.

Person specification


To be successful with your application, you\'ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
  • Previous work experience in, in house corporate communications.
  • Proven successful stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience managing individuals.
