What we do?

With 1,000 acres of history, walks, wellness, shopping, food and adventure, all in a beautiful setting just a few miles from Edinburgh, Dalkeith Country Park is enjoyed and valued by locals and visitors from afar. Nestled within our beautiful Country Park, Dalkeith Palace, commissioned by Anna 1st Duchess of Buccleuch and designed by architect James Smith, hosts exhibitions, tours and events throughout the year.

The role?

Taking charge of admissions at the reception desk, you will meet and greet guests, share visitor information, operate the till and assist in our small coffee and gift shops. In addition, you'll occasionally help with supporting evening events and art exhibitions. This is a versatile and hands-on role for which full training will be provided. This is a seasonal role and hours are variable, primarily at weekends (including Fridays). While hours may not be regular, we anticipate that Palace activities will continue to evolve, providing ongoing seasonal opportunities during peak times for the right candidate.

The person?

With strong attention to detail to ensure high standards for our guests, you will be friendly and welcoming with a positive attitude. Candidates should have a calm head under pressure and the initiative to resolve problems as they arise. Customer facing experience is essential. If you enjoy working with people and have a passion for history and art, we would love to hear from you.
