Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Security Dog Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of canine behaviour and training, with the ability to utilise dogs for surveillance and loss prevention purposes. This role is essential in maintaining safety and security within our designated areas, ensuring that both personnel and property are protected.

Duties

Conduct regular patrols to deter and detect suspicious activities. Monitor surveillance systems to identify potential perimeter breaches. Collaborate with security personnel to develop effective strategies for loss prevention. Maintain a high level of care and training for the working dog, ensuring their well-being and readiness for duty. Respond promptly to incidents or alarms, utilising first aid skills when necessary. Prepare detailed reports on incidents and observations during patrols. Engage with the public in a professional manner, promoting a positive image of the organisation.

Qualifications

Proven experience handling working dogs. Knowledge of surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies. Familiarity with CCTV systems and their operation is advantageous. Certification in First Aid. Excellent observational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
