About the role



Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Security Vetting Coordinator to join our growing team in Derby.

What you'll be doing



Coordinate applications for National Security Vetting according to Balfour Beatty Vetting Policy. Provide advice and guidance for employees completing the National Security Vetting process. Ensure that specific sites where Security Managers process National Security Vetting and BPSS applications comply with the Balfour Beatty Vetting Policy and assist where necessary. Working with the Group Vetting Team to enforce UKSV guidance and policies for Ground Engineering staff and contractors. Understanding of GDPR requirements for handling personal data and working knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 Manage the central database of BPSS and Security Cleared staff. Influence and support senior leadership teams by providing security subject matter expertise and support Create and deliver security training and awareness Ensure information is stored in line with GDPR Facilitate the timely completion of Security Clearances, reviews, travel, aftercare and all personnel security matters. Working with project based security professionals to advise Ground Engineering on data security processes. Advise on documentation classification, storage, archive and disposal on Security Sensitive projects. Assist with the management of the ListX facilities. Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety and leadership to deliver Zero Harm. Be willing to travel nationally, sometimes at short notice Support in the onboarding of those individuals Conduct criminal investigations as directed by the Group Security Team

Who we're looking for




The following qualities/experience are essential:


Experience of operational security management including the identification and mitigation of risk Knowledge and understanding of personnel security vetting requirements and classified documentation management for the lifecycle of projects Excellent communication skills, verbal and written English Training qualification desirable Excellent IT skills including Microsoft office 365 Management of own workload Experience of report writing, agenda setting and chairing meetings Planning, organising and delegating skills Cooperative with a 'can do attitude' Understanding of Health & Safety at work regulations Commitment to Equal Opportunities treating everyone with respect Good understanding of GDPR requirements Clean history record in the achievement of a Security Vetting requirements Security Cleared or able to attain the minimum of SC
