We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Floor Layer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring in commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. Responsibilities

Prepare subfloors and surfaces to ensure proper installation of flooring materials Multitrade would advantageous Measure, cut, and lay flooring using hand tools such as chisels, hammers, and saws Operate power tools safely and efficiently during installation processes Follow schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate placement of flooring components Apply adhesives, sealants, and finishes as required for different flooring types Perform construction painting tasks related to flooring projects when necessary Maintain a clean and organised work environment to adhere to safety standards Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and electricians to complete projects on time Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and client specifications

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction, particularly in flooring installation or related trades Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry techniques Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately Knowledge of different flooring materials including laminate, hardwood, vinyl, and tiles Experience with construction painting is advantageous but not essential Strong organisational skills with attention to detail Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights if required Relevant certifications or training in construction or carpentry are preferred but not mandatory
