Self-Employed Driver - School Transport for The ReConnect Programme (East Anglia)
15 per hour | Monday to Friday | 9am - 3pm | Term Time Only
The ReConnect Project is looking for a
reliable and customer-focused driver
to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting young people by transporting them to and from alternative education settings across East Anglia.
This is a self-employed position and perfect for someone who enjoys driving, is professional and friendly, and wants to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.
As a driver with The ReConnect Project, you will be responsible for transporting passengers safely, professionally, and with care. This includes supporting young people--some with additional needs--while maintaining a clean, presentable vehicle and excellent communication throughout each journey. You will be responsible for transporting clients safely and efficiently to their destinations while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanour.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive young persons to their destinations safely and on time
Maintain your vehicle in good condition, ensuring it's clean and presentable
Communicate clearly and professionally with young persons and their families
Assist with bags or other items when needed
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Keep up to date with local routes and traffic patterns
Manage your schedule and report any incidents or vehicle issues promptly
Essential Criteria:
Full, clean UK driving licence
Own vehicle with business insurance
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Strong communication skills and a calm, professional approach
Familiarity with East Anglia roads and use of GPS
Ability to lift luggage or assist passengers where needed
Desirable Criteria:
Experience working with young people or in an SEN setting is a bonus, but not essential
What We Offer:
15 per hour (self-employed basis)
Regular, consistent hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm (term-time only)
