Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educational staff in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for children with diverse needs. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with autism and disabilities, to facilitate learning and social development. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in special education and child care within a supportive team.

Responsibilities



Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational activities to children with special needs, including autism and disabilities Support children's participation in classroom routines, ensuring they feel safe and included Provide one-on-one support for children requiring additional assistance, including toddlers and those with behavioural challenges Help implement individualised education plans (IEPs) under the supervision of qualified staff Foster positive communication and social interaction among pupils Support behavioural management strategies to promote a calm and productive learning environment Assist with organising activities, materials, and resources needed for lessons and therapy sessions Maintain a clean, safe, and organised classroom environment

Requirements



Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or disabilities, is highly desirable Knowledge of special education principles and practices is advantageous Previous experience in toddler care or working with young children is preferred Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, teachers, and parents Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to supporting children's individual needs Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Flexibility and patience when working with children facing diverse challenges

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 24,000.00-28,269.10 per year
