We are recruiting for a SEMH Support Worker in Burnley, Lancashire. This role includes working 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday or part-time depending on what days are best for you.
The pay per day is very competitive starting at 90 depending on experience, based on a 6-hour shift. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and busy school with excellent facilities and a supportive leadership team.

Your main responsibilities will be:
To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children with SEMH
To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
To help ensure the school meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
To understand and work to school policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately.
To keep accurate assessments of children's learning and progress and continually ensuring positive outcomes.
To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments.
You will ideally have:
Experience working in a care environment, with people with special needs or with young people
Experience working in a challenging environment
An ability to improvise and support others in impromptu situations
Two references from within an educational/nursery environment/Support worker.
The ability to communicate with and inspire children of all abilities.
Strong behaviour management skills.
The following experience would be highly beneficial, but not essential:
Working with Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), Visual Impairment, Epilepsy, Sensory Impairment, Physical Disabilities, Speech Language and Communicational Needs including Non-Verbal, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Behavioural Needs and Autism
Experienced any of the following training; Makaton, PECS, BSL, Team Teach, Manual Handling, Safeguarding, Epilepsy Training
