We are a newly established specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Horley, dedicated to supporting young people aged 11-17 with complex emotional and behavioural needs. With small class sizes and a nurturing environment, we aim to provide a safe, structured, and inspiring space where every student can thrive academically and personally.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join our founding team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning experience for our students, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic progress.
Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support individual learning plans.
Use restorative approaches and trauma-informed practices to manage behaviour positively.
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Build strong relationships with students, families, and external agencies.
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Excellent communication, empathy, and resilience.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to inclusive education and continuous professional development.
