Job Overview


Do you want to work with a family run team based in the centre of Wakefield that values your input and will give you the opportunity to develop your talents and experience in a growing and dynamic team with a future opportunity to develop in to a client manager if you are successful.

For this exciting opportunity you need to have approximately at least 3 years experience in practice and be a self-motivated person keen on developing yourself and looking to contribute to our success as well as trying new ways of working for our clients. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified and the role is ideal for someone who is already on an ACA/ACCA apprenticeship or looking to commence on one.

Key areas of involvement:



Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Preparation of monthly management accounts Supporting a portfolio of clients helping to manage information requests, timetables/deadlines Working on the corporate and personal tax needs of our clients Liaising directly with clients to answer queries, provide proactive advice and building strong relationships Reviewing accounts, tax and VAT work completed by junior colleagues or clients Assisting junior colleagues and helping them grow too Liaising with HMRC on tax queries Supporting the team in the preparation of other ad-*hoc jobs as required
Opportunity to use and develop AI-enabled systems to improve our workflows and client offerings, supported by onboarding workshops and ongoing training.

Desired Skills and Personal Qualities:



Accountancy practice experience is essential, ideally a minimum of 3 years Ideally AAT qualified and suitable for someone who is already on an ACA/ACCA apprenticeship or looking to commence on one in November 2025 Strong IT skills - preferably experienced in the use of Xero and Excel Ability to work to deadlines with good time management Problem solving skills Accurate, methodical and organised, self-starter Excellent telephone manner, clear and effective communication skills Numerate Ability to work as part of a team and independently Positive attitude Proven ability to focus on detail

Position offered is full-time but part time hours would be considered for the right candidate.

Salary is negotiable depending on your level of qualifications and experience.
