We are looking for a Semi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering Team looking at continuous improvement measures and also involved in commissioning of new equipment. You will also be expected to ensure all machinery is safe to operate at all times and also the machinery is efficient as can be.

This is a key role in ensuring that our busy Production units are kept operational achieving out load times and ensuring that our customers have a continued supply of products.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Communicate standards for the condition, Maintenance and facilities of equipment and the fabric of the building to the Engineering Manager. To manage the day to day maintenance/ breakdown requirements of the site as necessary. To organise repairs and take appropriate corrective action as necessary. To look at increasing efficiencies onsite and make sure that maintenance and repairs are achieved in a timely manner and closed off on the tracker. To ensure that the Mathiesons Health and Safety procedure is followed at all times. To carryout preventive maintenance onsite and provide breakdown support on day to day basis. Maintaining accurate records of daily time on shift regarding completing a engineering shift report. Ensuring all machinery and equipment are good working order and comply with the current Health& safety standards and legislation. Work as a part of the production team to maximise plant performance and to ensure basic maintenance checks are completed as scheduled. Assist in maintenance projects and reduce the cost through improved efficiency and waste reduction. Able to keep good working relationship and communicate efficiently with the team. Carrying out preventive maintenance work on Food manufacturing equipment. Reactive to any breakdown or fault that may occur. To be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative. To ensure that all relevant documentation is completed accurately, i.e. shift reports, plant and equipment maintenance checks, incident investigations etc. To able to work under pressure, looking for ways to improve efficiency and quality and also to reduce waste.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

You must have engineering / mechanical knowledge

Electrical qualifications 18th Edition (formal) are a requirement

A self-starter that can prioritise and react to situations as they occur.
