We are looking for a

SEND Nursery Assistant

to join a welcoming Nursery based next to the train station in Headingly. This is a part or full

time role

, . You will provide tailored support to young children with special educational needs and or disabilities, helping them access learning and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND. Assist the room leaders in adapting lessons to meet individual needs. Implement behaviour and learning strategies in line with nurseries policies. Build positive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and progress.

Requirements:

Level 3 Early years qualification Experience supporting children with SEND in a nursery/pre-school setting. Ability to remain calm and proactive in challenging situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Requirements

Proven experience in childcare or nursery settings, ideally with early childhood education background Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development Ability to organise activities that are fun, educational, and inclusive Experience with children's behavioural management strategies is advantageous Organisation skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the nursery environment

Pay: From 13.00 per hour
