We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant to support individuals with disabilities. This role involves working closely with children, providing guidance, encouragement, and assistance in their daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education or related fields, along with excellent communication skills to foster positive interactions.
Responsibilities
Assist individuals with disabilities in daily living activities, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
Implement teaching strategies tailored to the unique needs of each individual, ensuring an engaging learning environment.
Provide support in educational settings, reinforcing lessons and helping with homework or skill development.
Collaborate with educators and caregivers to develop personalised learning plans and track progress.
Engage in toddler care when necessary, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for younger children.
Maintain clear communication with families regarding the progress and needs of the individuals being supported.
Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to special education and working with individuals with disabilities.
Requirements
Experience working with children disabilities is essential.
Background in teaching or special education is highly desirable.
Previous experience with children, particularly in educational or care settings, is preferred.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members.
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding towards individuals' unique challenges.
