The Role

We are looking for a strong and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the school's Additional Resource Provision (ARP). The ARP supports a wide range of needs and provides tailored support to ensure that all pupils can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism and complex learning needs. Working across all primary year groups, from Reception to Year 6. Providing one-to-one and small-group support within the ARP and mainstream classrooms. Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social development. Assisting with personal care when needed, though this is not a deal breaker. Working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and wider staff team.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

Has significant experience working with children with SEN, ideally in an ARP or similar setting. Is confident, resilient, and proactive in their approach. Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families. Has experience managing challenging behaviour and implementing consistent support strategies. Is flexible and able to adapt to different pupils' needs and school routines.

Desirable Qualities and Experience

Minimum one year of experience in a UK school setting. Knowledge of EHCPs, autism strategies, and sensory support. Additional training (e.g., Team Teach, Makaton) is advantageous. A calm, caring, and professional manner. Respectful of the school's Catholic ethos and inclusive values.

Why This Opportunity?

Join a respected and well-run ARP within a vibrant primary school. Be part of a supportive, collaborative, and caring team. Gain meaningful experience working with a range of SEN needs. Excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in a full-time, long-term role.
