SEN Teaching Assistant - Hackney

Full Time, Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm)

An inclusive secondary special educational needs setting in Hackney is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join the team. This is a rewarding, full-time role supporting students with a range of additional learning needs including communication and interaction difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping young people achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. Daily responsibilities include:

Supporting students with their learning in small groups or one-to-one sessions Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and differentiated resources Promoting positive behavior and emotional wellbeing within the classroom Encouraging communication, independence, and social interaction skills Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies Assisting with personal care and physical needs where required Monitoring and recording student progress in collaboration with teaching staff
We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who:

Has experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs Is patient, adaptable, and motivated by helping others succeed Works well within a collaborative and caring team environment
