We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistant with great energy, passion and a relentless focus on high standards.
As part of the United Learning Trust, Abbey Hey Academy is a larger than average sized primary school in the heart of Gorton, East Manchester with 660 fantastic children from Nursery to Year 6.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who will:
Be enthusiastic and dynamic, with a sound understanding of how children learn and how to support them effectively;
Have a compassionate and flexible approach, with patience, a sense of humour, and a commitment to inclusion;
Be a strong team player, able to work collaboratively with teachers, colleagues, and external professionals;
Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Have GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent);
Be committed to continuous professional development and open to using research-based approaches in the classroom;
Be creative and proactive, able to adapt learning activities to meet a range of needs, including those of pupils with SEN, EAL (English as an Additional Language), or new to English;
Be confident in providing some one-to-one and small group support, including assisting children with medical needs or disabilities, ensuring their full access to learning;
Be committed to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment that inspires and motivates all children;
Communicate clearly and professionally with children, parents, staff, governors, and the wider community;
Use positive behaviour management strategies to support pupil wellbeing and engagement;
Be enthusiastic about making a difference and contributing to the life of the wider school community
