Are you a compassionate and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Mansfield is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after the October half-term break.

The Role

This is a full-time position working with pupils who require additional support across a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with teachers and the school SENCO to provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils engage with learning and make consistent progress both academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities

Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN Implement EHCP targets and behaviour support strategies Foster a calm, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment Observe and record pupil progress, sharing updates with teaching staff and the SENCO Encourage pupils' confidence, communication and social interaction skills

Requirements

Experience supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary school setting A patient, empathetic and positive approach to supporting children's development Strong communication, adaptability and teamwork skills Awareness of safeguarding and effective behaviour management practices A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE) is desirable but not essential
